Pancha Seal Agreement

The Panchsheel agreement was one of the most important relations between India and China to strengthen economic and security cooperation. The underlying assumption of the Five Principles was that, after decolonization, newly independent states would be able to develop a new and more principled approach to international relations. The Panchsheel, or Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, was first officially signed on April 29, 1954 between India and the Tibet region of China.

The agreement was signed between Jawaharlal Nehru, then Prime Minister, and the first Chinese Prime Minister, Chou En-Lai. In April 1954, India, which considered Tibet to be part of China, reached an agreement with China on the “Panchsheel” principle. The main points of the Panchsheel agreement were: The agreement provides that “do not interfere in the internal affairs of the other”. Now, in this article, tell us what the Panchsheel agreement between India and China was and why was it done? At the beginning of the Tibetan uprising in 1959, the Dalai Lama and his followers fled Tibet with the help of the CIA to protect their lives in India. The Indian government granted them asylum, and that is it from here that the Panchsheel agreement between India and China broke down. Although the immediate Prime Minister Nehru tried to establish good relations between the two countries through the Panchsheel agreement, he failed and the 1962 war took place between the two countries. In this way, the Panchsheel agreement was a stimulating step in restoring India`s economic and political relations between India and China to Sanund, but China has exploited it badly and stabbed India in the back on several occasions. China has often stressed its close connection to the Five Principles.

[8] It had proposed it as the five principles of peaceful coexistence at the beginning of the negotiations that, from December 1953 to April 1954 in Delhi, between the delegation of the Government of the People`s Republic of China and the Delegation of the Government of India on relations between the two countries with regard to the disputed areas Von Aksai Chin and what China calls the Southern Stretcher and India Arunachal Pradesh , took place.
